Parks and Recreational Facilities

Academy Hill Park

The park features a baseball field, picnic tables, and paved parking lot. 

 

 

 

Appalachian Trail Access

The Appalachian Trail can be accessed via Sky Meadows State Park and the G.R. Thompson Wildlife

Management Area. 

 

 

Warrenton Aquatic & Recreation Facility (WARF)

The WARF includes a 25 yard by 25 meter indoor Competition and Fitness Pool,

a Leisure Pool with a Water Slide, a Lazy River, additional play features, a Zero Depth

Entry Pool and a Therapy Pool which has 104 degree water. 

 

 

 

Remington Bicycle Routes

Pedal through history - the quaint Town of Remington now hosts four marked bicycle routes.

Remington's bike trails wind through the beautiful and historic countryside that surrounds the

town. 

 

 

C.F. Phelps Wildlife Management Area

Most of the management area's 4,539 acres are in southern Fauquier County with the balance being in Culpeper County. The Rappahannock River and several small streams cross the area and a three-acre pond is located near the center of the property. 

 

 

 

C.M. Crockett Park

The county’s largest lakeside park offering a wide range of recreational opportunities including:  fishing, boat rentals,

boat launch facilities, nature trails, picnicking, picnics shelters, horseshoes, volleyball, a ropes course... 

 

 

Eva Walker Park

Located on Alexandria Pike in Old Town Warrenton, this small community park offers playground facilities, a picnic shelter and basketball courts all conveniently located in Old Town. 

 

 

 

G. Richard Thompson Wildlife Management Area

4,000 acres and many miles of natural-surface trails, located in Northwestern Fauquier County. + LEARN MORE

 

 

John Marshall Birthplace Park

This historic site has a picnic area at the trailhead with tables and grills, plus a .75-mile hiking trail that meanders along a stream

back to a dedication monument to the Honorable Supreme Court Justice John Marshall. 

 

 

 

Lake Brittle

A 77-acre park constructed in 1953 as a public fishing lake. Lake Brittle supports a warm water fish community including largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, black crappie and channel catfish.  

 

 

Larry Weeks Community Pools

This outdoor L shaped family pool is 25 meters long with a water depth ranging from 2 - 6 feet. There is an ADA accessible zero depth ramp that enters the water and a 25-meter lap lane.  

 

 

 

Marshall Community Center & Park

Facilities for public use and private rentals: indoor, full court gymnasium (basketball and volleyball),

auditorium (with 12' x 24' projection screen and seating for 220), meeting rooms, dance studio, and kitchen 

 

 

Monroe Park & Goldmining Museum

The Gold Mining Camp Museum at Monroe Park is the only museum in Virginia solely dedicated to the history of gold and gold mining. 

 

 

 

Northern Fauquier Community Park

Fauquier County's newest park consists of 88 beautifully landscaped acres, includes 8 ball fields, 3 playgrounds, a paved walking/biking trail, a stocked children's fishing lake... 

 

 

Rady Park

A community park in the Town of Warrenton offering playground, picnic shelter, commemorative gardens, athletic fields, and an asphalt walking path. A greenway path also starts at the park for longer walks. 

 

 

 

Sky Meadow State Park

Rich in history, this 1,864-acre park has scenic views, woodlands and the rolling pastures of a historic farm that captures the colonial through post-Civil War life of Mount Bleak House. Nature and history programs are offered year-round. 

 

Upperville Community Park

Community classes, baseball/softball athletic fields, and picnic tables. Open year round, call for availability. 

 

 

 

Vint Hill Village Green Community Center

Park covers 25 acres, with gymnasium; racquetball courts; fitness studio; locker rooms; theater; concessions; outdoor lighted tennis and basketball courts; baseball, softball, football and soccer fields; grandstand; shelters; and playground.  

 

 

Vint Hill Farms Dog Park

Located on the corner of Kennedy Road and Aiken Drive.  Open dawn to dusk.  

 

 

 

Warrenton Branch Greenway

This combination path and historic area has become a focal point for downtown Warrenton. 

 

 

William C. Whitney State Forest

Located on Rte. 684, near central Fauquier County, this 147-acre forest and wildlife sanctuary offers bridle trails, and trails for hiking and mountain biking.

G. Richard Thompson Wildlife Management Area

4,000 acres and many miles of natural-surface trails, located in Northwestern Fauquier County. Horseback riding is permitted on the trails, but not recommended during hunting season.

 

The Inn at Kelly's Ford

The Inn at Kelly's Ford Equestrian Center offers a state-of-the-art facility with lighted indoor arena and clubhouse. 

 

 

 

The Marriott Ranch

The Marriott Ranch, a working cattle ranch set on 4,200 acres at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, offers several different horseback riding options.
  

 

 

Morningside Training Farm

Morningside Training Farm is a world-class training facility and a development program that produces top 3-day Eventing students at all levels. 

 

 

 

Sky Meadows State Park

Sky Meadows boasts bridle trails, various hiking trails, beautiful vistas of the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and access to the Appalachian Trail.
